Freedom Mobile Mechanics officially began operations in 2026 with a clear purpose: to make auto repair more practical, personal, and respectful of people’s time. After working five straight years in the automotive industry—and continuing to help people with side repair work for two additional years—I saw firsthand how often customers were rushed, overlooked, or forced to rearrange their lives just to keep their vehicles running. For several years, I considered building something better, and in 2026, the timing and clarity finally aligned to make it a reality.

This business was created to give customers back their time while ensuring they have safe, dependable transportation they don’t have to worry about. By bringing professional mobile auto repair directly to homes, workplaces, and job sites, we eliminate waiting rooms and unnecessary delays without compromising quality. Our services are designed to support individuals, families, and growing fleets throughout North Idaho, with a long-term goal of becoming the area’s most trusted fleet service provider while still serving everyday drivers with the same care.

At our core, we focus on three things: convenience that fits real life, trust-based working relationships, and strong technical experience. We understand there are only so many hours in a day, and our role is to help customers use their time where it matters most—while knowing their vehicle is handled correctly.

About The Owner

I’m Josiah Nelson, the owner and operator of Freedom Mobile Mechanics. I was born and raised in the heart of the Northwest, and I take pride in building something local, honest, and lasting. I have five years of full-time automotive experience, along with two additional years of hands-on repair work helping people outside of traditional shop settings. I currently hold my G1 ASE certification and continue to build my technical knowledge as the business grows.

This is a family-run business. My wife, Esther, is a strong supporter and helps when she can while also running the home front and raising our children. That family foundation shapes how this business operates—how customers are treated, how work is approached, and how relationships are built. When you work with Freedom Mobile Mechanics, you’re working directly with the owner, not a rotating list of employees.

My long-term vision is to scale in a way that allows us to meet more needs—especially for local fleets—while maintaining the quality, accountability, and personal relationships that define a well-run small business.
